Port XIV is an exciting new establishment which has brought a more contemporary dining option to Asilah. Located on the promenade opposite the port, its team offers good, fresh food in a comfortable and chic atmosphere. The blue and white colours reflect the restaurant’s coastal location and the beautiful stained-glass ceiling and fabulous art work on the walls are just a few examples of the care taken to create a unique dining space.
The restaurant has a terrace area, perfect for al fresco dining, a bright and spacious dining room with an oyster bar and the kitchen is open-plan, so you can see the chefs preparing your meals. Upstairs there is a smart private room that can be hired for special events and meetings (8 pax.) and comes with its own personal waiter.
Port XIV serves international cuisine and the food is (where possible) locally sourced. In fact, much of the restaurant’s produce, such as the beef and olive oil, comes from the proprietor’s own farm just a few kilometres outside of Asilah. The menu includes the classics: Rib-eye steak, grilled fish (John Dory, Sole, and Monk Fish), seafood as well as some more interesting dishes like British fish & chips, Piri-Piri chicken, Minestrone soup and Caesar salad. A typical appetizer is bread and olive paste dip and desserts include poached pears, caramelised peach and delicious brownies with real Italian ice-cream. All the food is fresh (only the ice-cream is frozen) and the menu changes regularly.
The restaurant is fully licensed and serves a variety of Moroccan wines, international beers and even a few cocktails! Jazz music is played in the background, creating a sophisticated, yet related atmosphere.
